Walls and floors for the sims 3

Ive spent so much money on Sims and all its expansions and now they dont work. I cant got up or down stairs , forget about 2 storey buildings, only 2 walls can have wall art, my sims themselves apparently change hair style and put makeup on by themselves and glitch like made.

One minute theyre making french toast next theyre in their garden! I apologise for my complaining. I jjst dont get why the controls were changed in yhe first place. I just want to build houses and make sims to do cool things with. Is there anyway to go back to the old controls for ps4?

I just want to share this in case it helps anyone, if I go into free cam mode by clicking the camera in the top right of the screen I CAN lower walls. Ok, so I've got a number of problems to rant about, the latest update really screwed with my game, but for now I'll focus on the above mentioned problems. My sim family live in a gallery downloaded house in Brindleton Bay, everything is fine with the house, they've lived there for quite some time, it came with a nice little pool and I created a basement for the family to place their eco lifestyle machinery in, fabrication machine, juice fizz, candle making etc.

I knew I would have a vampire on the lot at some point, I'm doing the baby challenge, and I needed said basement to be big enough for the above mentioned equipment and still have the space needed for the coffin that I would eventually need.

Problem is, I cannot gain access to said basement, on the Xbox One switching between the 'street' level and the basement level is done by pressing down on the d-pad, this does not work in live mode or build mode. I thought the problem might be the d-pad on my controller so I tested out the walls, pressing left to make the walls go up, disappear or vanish with camera movement and discovered that this isn't working either. At this point I'm considering the need for a new controller, I'm frustrated and pull a 'rage quit' exiting the game and playing something else, only to discover that there is nothing wrong with my d-pad, as suspected, it works perfectly fine in every other game I've tried and I've tried a few.

Also, this has only become a problem with the latest update, I was able to access the lower level before hand, my sims very happily had access to his soy plants and candle making table.

The sims can go down to the basement on their own and when I switch to that sim it brings me to the lower level, I can't get back to the upper level unless I switch to another sim who is already on that level.

I'm sorry for the long rant, but my frustration levels are very high, there have been so many problems with the game for me lately and with being stuck in lock down the sims have been my much needed stress relief. I've given as much information as I can, seeing as a picture wouldn't be of any help at all and I hope someone, somewhere can help me.

Things like this ruin the game for players and they really need to be addressed and fixed, instead of throwing out more content that just creates more problems.
